Rufftown records Signee Wendy Shay has set the internet on fire with her tweet
Wendy Shay’s latest tweet on ‘celebrity education is raising eyebrows as we wonder if she was throwing a jab at COP Kofi Boakye.
Last week COP Kofi Boakye called out Ghanaian celebs for being too entitled. Some celebs petitioned the IGP to allow them some privileges befitting statutes as public figures in the community. But COP Kofi Boakye would not have any of these talks, as he called them an entitled bunch and refused to acknowledge their perceived importance.
He questioned their celebrity status, “Who is a celebrity? What is the operational definition of the word celebrity? I think we should get that because I am confused. We are confused. Is it that when you appear in one film, or you do one song, you qualify to be called a celebrity or what? And you see, because we are confused, we do not know what you want.”
Wendy Shay seems to have a response as she lectured tweeps on who is a celebrity.
She wrote, “Celebrity is an English word. It means a famous person, especially in entertainment or sports etc. But it seems some Ghanaians have their own definition for the word celebrity. Somebody being famous(celebrity) to dey pain you people. Ooh Dabi, smh, Ghana, wake up!”
